Life is just one damned thing after another

Happy 2 Year Anniversary

Been a long week! Went for chemical defense lesson on monday, was introduced all the different kinds of biochemical stuffs and the threats we will face in a chemical warfare, monday was practically theories and some practical hands on on the chemical defense suit. Had our assessment on tuesday itself whereby we had to wear the suit and enter an enclosed room filled with tear gas. The feeling was damn irritating, you feel damn nausea when contacted with the gas, luckily i manage to survive the test, if not i think i'll have to re-course the whole thing again. Swimming CAT test after chemical defense assessment. Was pretty tired already but just wan to pass it once and for all. Had to swim around 50metres across the pool, trap water for 5minutes and do a float using my NCR suit. Whole process was super tiring, especially the trapping of water, nearly died there haha but i count myself fortunate; made my float and swam back to the finish line. Thats not all! Had to jump 3metres high down the pool. Overall i passed! Officially a CAT 1 swimmer! WOOHOO!

Wednesday; the most tiring day! IPPT in the morning. Phew! manage to pass it even though i slacked for like 1 month after passing out from BMT. Didnt have much confidence but i gave it my all :) Packed my stuffs and boarded RSS Endurance. My first sailing experience! 2 days 1 night out at South China Sea. Overall a wonderful experience, get the know quite alot of stuffs. Didnt know the stars were so nice out at sea in the night... totally melted my heart. Never regretted sailing...

Anyway, Happy 2nd Anniversary baby! =]
Didnt have the time to prepare much thing but i enjoyed myself till the very last moment =] thanks for the gift and card too =]

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year

Just booked out from Changi Naval Base today, how sad, have to book in on friday night for saturday lesson again...But its ok... looking forward to it again. For the first time wearing my no. 3 uniform, look kinda weird with beret but definitely better than my green no.4 uniform haha!

Anyway, had lessons for the past few days, kinda bored but today's lesson was great! Not the theory part of the lesson but the interacting part, the instructor was really inspiring can say that i really salute him. He taught us everything about life, about handling difficult people, respecting people, not to look down on others, karma, etc etc. So far, can say that hes the most inspiring instructor i've seen in my whole life. Its really a wonderful experience and a great opportunity to meet such a nice person.

Hopefully this saturday lesson isnt gonna be a skit; if not its really a total waste of MY TIME!

PS: Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to everyone =]

Taylor Swift - Breathe
meguitar
[info]andy_tay
Breathe lyrics
Songwriters: Caillat, Colbie; Swift, Taylor Alison;

I see your face in my mind as I drive away
'Cause none of us thought it was gonna end that way
People are people and sometimes we change our minds
But it's killing me to see you go after all this time

Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm
Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm

Music starts playin' like the end of a sad movie
It's the kinda ending you don't really wanna see
'Cause it's tragedy and it'll only bring you down
Now I don't know what to be without you around

And we know it's never simple, never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand

And I can't breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to

Never wanted this, never want to see you hurt
Every little bump in the road I tried to swerve
People are people and sometimes it doesn't work out
Nothing we say is gonna save us from the fall out

And we know it's never simple, never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me
You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand

And I can't breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to

It's two a.m., feelin' like I just lost a friend
Hope you know it's not easy, easy for me
It's two a.m., feelin' like I just lost a friend
Hope you know this ain't easy, easy for me

And we know it's never simple, never easy
Never a clean break, no one here to save me, oh

I can't breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to
Breathe
Without you, but I have to

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry

CMPB
love
[info]andy_tay
Went down to CMPB for some signing of documents for Navy Recruitment. The whole thing took around 45mins or so. Was brief on MDIS and mostly about the backdating sum of money and the 25k sum. Mainly was "what will happen when i break the bond within the 4th, 5th and 6th year" Nothing much though. Anyway most probably confirmed that i'll be posted to the navy. Since i was given a "Regular" status on my 11B i.e to say my I/C.

Booking in on the 21st Dec (Monday) to Institute of Maritime Operations & Systems (Gun Shed) which is somewhere around Tanah Merah? Think have to wake up damn early by then; have to reach by 730 to catch the shutter bus to camp.
-------------------------------------------

Met up with the clique yesterday, though it was a very short meet up, i cherished every moment spent together (although abit reluctant for the constant unstoppable photo taking session). Anyway, hope to meet up soon again!

Time for a new start...

3 months have past ever since i'm back to blogging again. Thinking back, i think i've learnt alot from the past 3 months.Where have i been? Not to some holiday resort, but to some ulu place away from mainland. 14 Sept marks the end of freedom to me, i thought. Enlisting to the army has always been kept as a nightmare for me. Although i was quite anxious about it, but trust me, the feeling of leaving behind your loved ones, not being able to see them for weeks; is painful.

The first day of enlistment was kinda rush. After bidding goodbye, we were sent to the other camp of tekong island (the main camp was ladang). Upon reaching Rocky Hill Camp, we were being detailed to our different platoon levels. Since our Company(Zulu) was the last to enlist for the day, we have to settle the administrative stuff as quickly as possible. All the checking of the necessary items and the sizing of our uniforms and stuff were all done till night time when we finally get to settle ourselves in our bunk for awhile. After which we were told to gather for our hair cutting session; the most sad and irritating part. Yes, i look so damn ugly with shaved hair.

I got transferred to session 1 bed 12 of my platoon (platoon 2) surprising Chien Wei got transferred as well and he's in bed 11; how coincident, we are buddies! But sadly to say, my first few weeks stay in tekong island wasn't good at all. I went emo a few times after making calls back home :'(

Slowly i began to pick myself up i somehow manage to get use to the life as a recruit. Basic trainings like running, push ups, dumbell drills, gym, chin ups, etc were all scheduled for us to buff us up in order for us to pass our IPPT (individual Physical Proficiency Test) to quality ourselves as physically fit. On the other hand, to quality for combat fitness, we have to pass SOC (Standard Obstacles Course). Throughout the 13 weeks, we went through Field Camp, whereby we didnt get to shower for 6 days? How smelly right? but well, we all smell the same haha! We also had our Live Firing of SAR-21 before that as well as Situational Test and Hand Grenade Live Throw after Field Camp.

Coming so far, i've learnt alot of lifeskills, weapon handlings etc. I've also learnt the meaning of Endurance. I've made alot of friends throughout the 13 weeks. Especially my section mates, you guys rock man! (except bed 5 for god's sake). Hope to meet up soon! Few days back marks the end of our recruit life as we embark on the next phrase of NS. Yes, i signed on as a Navy Specialist, a bond for 6 years. Reason being (simple), i want to start my career early, and get a stable income. Why Navy? cos its the only vocation that interest me.

Having my block leave now. Posting results to be out by 18 Dec 2009 which is this coming Friday. Waiting for the good news. Not going to waste my 1 week of leave. Gonna do some self-exercise to maintain my fitness and probably chill out before i'm reporting in to my next unit again.
